01

These terms

These terms are the agreement between you and LinkPay Banking Limited. By opening an account or using the app, you accept them.

LinkPay is a technology company. Deposits are held by our CBN-licensed partner bank, so the protections that apply to a bank deposit apply to yours.

02

Opening an account

You need to be 18 or older, resident in Nigeria, and able to provide a valid means of identification and a Bank Verification Number.

We verify every applicant before an account can hold money. If we cannot verify you, we will tell you why and what would let us try again.

03

Using your account

The account is yours alone. Do not let anyone else operate it, and do not use LinkPay to move money that is not yours to move.

We may pause a payment or an account where the law requires it, or where the activity on it does not match the person we verified. We will tell you as soon as we are allowed to.

04

Payments, transfers and bills

Transfers to other Nigerian banks settle over NIP and usually arrive in seconds. Final timing depends on the receiving bank, which is outside our control.

Check the account number and the name on the confirmation screen before you send. A completed transfer cannot be reversed by us, though we will always help you contact the receiving bank.

05

Groups and shared saving

A group is a shared target with named contributions. Whoever creates it sets the target, and every member can see what has been paid in and by whom.

Money in a group belongs to the members who contributed it. You can withdraw your own contribution at any time; you cannot withdraw anyone else's.

06

Fees, limits and charges

Holding a LinkPay account is free. Where a transfer or a bill payment carries a charge, the amount is shown on the confirmation screen before you approve it.

Daily and single-transaction limits apply, and depend on the level of identification you have completed. Your current limits are always visible in the app.

07

Security and responsibility

Keep your PIN, your password and your device to yourself, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has reached your account.

We are responsible for losses caused by our own failure. We are not responsible for losses caused by someone using your credentials with your knowledge, or by details you entered incorrectly.

08

Closing, changes and complaints

You can close your account from the app at any time once the balance is zero. We may close an account on 30 days' notice, or sooner where the law requires it.

If we change these terms we will tell you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If something has gone wrong, write to us and we will respond within five working days.
